This short 2D animation outlines the Royal Mail’s ‘Not Yet Built’ service and explains how properties still in progress are assigned a postcode and then added to the PAF database.
The animation is fast paced whilst having a simple illustrated style, this allows the audience to digest lots of content in a relatively short space of time.
Royal Mail needed an engaging and accessible way to communicate important information to a large and diverse workforce operating across multiple locations throughout the UK.
Traditional communication methods such as presentations, documents and internal emails can often struggle to capture attention or ensure consistent understanding across a broad audience. The challenge was to transform complex information into a format that was easy to consume, visually engaging and suitable for employees with varying levels of technical knowledge and operational responsibilities.
The final content needed to communicate key messages clearly while maintaining the professionalism and credibility expected from one of the UK’s largest organisations.
We developed a bespoke 2D animated explainer video that transformed complex information into a clear and engaging visual narrative.
Using custom illustration, motion graphics and structured storytelling, the animation simplified key messages into an easy-to-follow format that could be understood quickly and consistently across the organisation. By combining visual communication with concise messaging, the animation helped improve engagement while reducing the risk of information being misunderstood.
The finished video provided Royal Mail with a flexible communication asset that could be used across internal platforms, training initiatives, presentations and employee engagement programmes.
Working closely with the Royal Mail team, we reviewed the communication objectives, target audience and key information that needed to be conveyed. This stage helped identify the most effective visual approach and messaging structure.
Complex information was distilled into a concise and engaging script designed to communicate the core message as clearly as possible. Particular focus was placed on removing unnecessary complexity while maintaining accuracy.
A detailed storyboard was developed to map the flow of information and ensure that each message could be supported visually. This process helped create a logical and engaging narrative structure before animation production began.
Custom illustrations and visual assets were created to support the story. Motion graphics and animation techniques were then used to bring the content to life, helping maintain viewer engagement while reinforcing key messages.
The completed animation was refined through editing, transitions and audio integration before being delivered in formats suitable for internal communications, presentations and digital distribution.
